Nigeria’s decaying National Library – a symbol of the rot within

19th century American industrialist Andrew Carnegie said “a library outranks any one thing a community can do to benefit its people.  It is a never failing spring in the desert.”

The state of Nigeria’s National Library in Abuja is an indication that the country’s rulers have no interest in what would benefit Nigerians and there is little chance of spring in the desert of despair that the majority have to endure.

This video explores how the library ended up in its current state of disrepair.
