A high court in Nigeria’s central state of Kaduna has postponed the trial of Muslims Cleric Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky. The decision was made following a hearing held amid tight security. Zakzaky has been charged with “criminal conspiracy and inciting public disturbance”.
However, the soldiers that murdered hundreds of Zakzay’s followers during a raid of his compound in Zaria, Kaduna State in December 2015, have not been charged. Zakzaky’s defence counsel Femi Falana alleged that those were crimes against humanity.
The report below is from Danjuma Abdullahi in Kaduna for Iran’s Press TV.
