Ayo Fayose, the governor of Ekiti State rode in an okada (motorbike taxi) as a governor. Now he has has revealed that he was a danfo (minibus) driver and used his earnings to pay his way through Ibadan Polytechnic.
Say what you will about Fayose, but you can’t knock his “man of the people” credentials.
But his background will amount to nothing if he doesn’t use it as a platform for understanding the plight of ordinary folks and to put in place pro-people programmes that serve the poor in his state and not his pocket.
We call on Fayose to use his driving skills to steer Ekiti State in the right direction.
