Buoyed by their brilliant 2-0 win over Iceland, Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr was confident about the last match in World Cup Group D against Argentina on Tuesday. It’s a winner takes all affair as Nigeria has three points in the bag, following a loss in the opening match to Croatia and the Iceland win.
Argentina were very poor in losing 3-0 to Croatia and have a 1-1 draw from their opener against Iceland. Croatia are already through. If Nigeria beat Argentina, they will join Croatia in the next round. A draw could still see the Super Eagles make it if Iceland lose or draw to Croatia. If Iceland win, then it comes down to goal difference.
Rohr spoke about preparations and activities leading up to the crucial Argentina match in St Petersburg. Watch him below:

He also gave an update on captain Mikel Obi’s injured hand, an injury sustained in the dying minutes of the victory against Iceland last Friday. Rohr was confident that Obi will play on Tuesday, even if he does so with a cast over the hand.
The German coach also seemed pleased that his country of birth won with the last kick of the game against Sweden last night.
