Interestingly, Iheanacho revealed that he had trained with Messi when the Nigerian striker was at the Manchester City academy. In Russia, Nigeria will be trying to reverse its record of four World Cup defeats at the group stages to Argentina when they meet on 26 June in St Petersburg in Group D’s final round of matches.
Iheanacho said that as a young boy he always dreamed about playing for Nigeria. He is living the dream now and an extended stay for the Super Eagles into the latter stages in Russia would send Nigerian fans to dreamland.
