Odion Ighalo, rested by coach Quique Sanchez Flores, came on late in the second half and scored the only goal in the 89th minute as Watford knocked out Nottingham Forest in the fourth round of the FA Cup yesterday.
A miskick by Forest defender Kelvin Wilson presented Ighalo with the opportunity to fire in his 15th goal of the season, showing characteristic predatory instinct.

It was a hard-fought away cup tie for the Hornets until Ighalo rescued it for them. Forest manager Dougie Freedman acknowledged the difference the Nigerian made: “I don’t think we deserved that. We gave them too much respect in the first half but in the second we got in their faces and made it a good old fashioned cup tie. Unfortunately, we didn’t take our opportunities, and they could bring on a striker good enough to seize on a half chance.”
