Manchester City Coach Pep Guardiola has indicated that young Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho will start in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League qualifiers against Steaua Bucharest tomorrow.
Iheanacho came off the bench on Saturday in the Premier League for star striker Sergio Aguero in City’s 4-1 win away to Stoke and was influential in his club’s third and fourth goals.
Guardiola said of the Nigerian: “He (Iheanacho) is always ready. We will need him. Sergio can’t play all season and Kelli is going to play.
“We can’t achieve anything with just 11 or 12 players. We need everybody and I hope they realise that.”
Iheanacho would like to show his coach how ready he is tomorrow night at the Etihad Stadium.
