Kelechi Iheanacho scored his third goal in three games as Manchester City demolished Bournemouth in the Premier League yesterday.
The Nigerian youngster now has 12 goals in 13 starts for City. After Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne had put City ahead from a 15th minute freekick, Iheanacho started the break from a Bournemouth freekick that ended with Raheem Sterling squaring the ball for the Nigerian international to sweep home in the 25 minute.
The third goal came three minutes after the break with Iheanacho setting up Sterling, who scuffed his shot over the line. Debutant Ilkay Gundogan got the fourth after 66 minutes.
Iheanacho said after the game that he is keen to take the opportunities that have come his way – he is leading the line for City in the absence of suspended Argentine Sergio Aguero. “I’m feeling great at the moment. It’s been a great performance in those three games, I think I’m improving. I’ll keep working hard every day and every game and if I get my opportunity, I’ll take it.”
