A source has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari doesn’t like working with his vice president Yemi Osinbajo and would have sacked him by now if that action wasn’t unconstitutional.
The removal of the VP can only be by death, resignation, incapacity or impeachment. The last option would require a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly.
Buhahari’s beef with Osinbajo is related to the president not being comfortable with his Number Two, who was foisted on him by Bobo Chicago Bola Tinubu, the mobster and former Lagos State governor. Buhahari feels that Osinbajo is a Tinubu puppet and spy, and wants the VP out of government.
Osinbajo, to his credit, has not done anything to warrant the hostility from the president. He has tried as much as possible not to rock the boat, and never disagrees openly with the president. But the president’s inner circle, led by the Kaduna State governor Nasir el-Rufai are constantly undermining the VP and alienating him from the president.
