A source has claimed that Nasty Nas el-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna State and de facto Prime Minister of Nigeria insisted he had to see anyone that was nominated to for ministerial positions in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari, before their name was submitted to the Senate for confirmation.
Anyone that didn’t get the Nasty Nas seal of approval was dropped from the list.
The source claimed that human rights lawyer Femi Falana, who was a choice of the former Lagos State governor and APC chieftain, Bobo Chicago Bola Tinubu, was indignant with rage when told he had to go and see el-Rufai to be approved.
Falana, thought such a grovelling exercise was beneath him. So after most reports suggested Falana would be the Attorney-General, he didn’t make the cut in the end.
