President Muhammadu Buhahari is said to have disappointed many top officials of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
An APC source claimed that “people are disappointed with the president”. Much of the disappointment stems from his decision to make himself the oil minister.
His APC colleagues are also disgruntled because “he doesn’t listen to their advice”. Instead, the president, according to the source, prefers the advice of “old northern men”, ignoring a lot of the APC members that helped secure his (s)election victory.
One of Buhahari’s most trusted confidantes is Ahmed Joda, who is in his 80s, and headed the president’s transition committee.
